Versailles – France
In the spirit of the Year of Le Nôtre, electric stations across the city of Versailles were transformed into eclectic sculptures… with the use of organic moss! The idea was to cover the cubic structures with an organic matter (called dichondra) that would grow and help hide the awkwardness of the structures; but how the moss would react to the building to become the intended design was an unknown factor to play with. Through a game of “full versus empty”, certain architectural details of the structure that had previously gone unnoticed were suddenly prominent.
